I read Mushoko Tensei, rly liked it but in the end i got pissed off because the MC became the 10th most powerful being in the world instead of the 1st. I have done threads like this one, so I will ask mostly the same questions: And I wanted to ask a few questions cuz the reviews on this dont answer them. Keep in mind that (from what I read on it) the LN is the just like the WN in the beginning when it is good, but once the WN starts to go bad the LN diverts from it.Just found this novel from another thread. I read it all because it was good at the beginning so I thought it could go back to being good and when I realized it wouldn't I was too far in and just wanted to know how it ended. After the story started going to siht there were several points I felt insulted as a reader that the author actually thought I would eat his garbage plot and character developments. Then after he by a shitty, out of the blue deus ex machina, the novel does a complete 180 turn and becomes a much more pandering and repetitive power-grab with "Everyone loves me and I'm great but I'm still grimdark" thing until things escalate and it becomes the things I just said and ridiculous. I'll give it a huge point in that it is very interesting at the beginning and develops very well for a while, but the "I'm grimdark and everyone hates me because of the princess's lie at the beginning" gets really old and even hypocritical after a certain point since, in good otaku fashion he is superior to most people and has a squad of girls that adore him. At least the LN has undergone proper editorial treatment, which is not much to say given how shitty many LNs are but at least it's better than the second-class, self-insert, wish fulfilment shit that is the WN. Like with any work (and notably a big amount of LNs and VNs) there will be fans that defend the WN to death and appeal to "different tastes" despite the fact that it's utter literary shit. For those who want an explanation as to why I don't like the WN: Do not approach the WN! In all honesty I haven't read the LN but the people I've asked say that it's decent and doesn't have the amount of atrocities the WN does.
